Summit Wind Farm

Introduction
Summit Wind Farm is a repowering project located in the high wind resource area of the Altamont Pass in Alameda County, CA.
Salka did not originate, but rather acquired Summit in 2015 from the owner of an older wind farm that had been operational on the site since 1985.
The project is expected to create up to 100 new jobs and has entered into a Project Labor Agreement with the Alameda Building Trades Council.
In March 2017 Salka entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement with Castlelake L.P., a $12B private equity firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In June 2019 the East Bay Community Energy (EBCE) board of directors approved a 20 year agreement to purchase 57.5 MW of wind energy from the Summit Wind Farm.
