Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center

The Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center is a repowering project located in the high wind resource area of the Altamont Pass in Alameda County, CA.

  • The Summit Wind Farm was renamed the “Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center” by East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), who is purchasing the electricity generated by the project for the next 20 years

  • Salka acquired Summit in 2015 from the owner of an older wind farm that had been operational on the site since 1985

  • The Project provides clean renewable energy to approximately 20,000 homes while offsetting an estimated 4 million metric tons of CO2

  • The Project expects to generate millions of dollars over its operating life in tax revenue that will benefit Alameda County’s schools and local community initiatives

  • The Project achieved commercial operations in July 2021, and was subsequently sold to Greenbacker Capital who currently owns and operates the Project
